Folica, Inc. appoints Carl Gish as Chief Executive Officer

Dayton, NJ - Folica.com (www.folica.com), a leading online beauty retailer, today announced the appointment of Carl Gish as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.

Gish brings more than 16 years of senior marketing and general management executive experience from Amazon.com, Unilever and Dyson to his role as CEO of Folica. Previously, Gish was Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Dyson, Inc. where he led all marketing and product development efforts in North America and drove 2007 growth by almost 40% to $500M.

We’re excited to attract someone of Carl’s caliber to lead Folica through its next phase of growth,” said Ken Fox, Managing Partner at Stripes Group, the lead investor in Folica.

Folica, one of the most successful privately-held Internet companies in the U.S., is an on-line leader in the multi-billion dollar beauty and personal care industry. The e-commerce company is highly profitable and growing rapidly.

Before leading Dyson’s North American Marketing efforts, Gish worked for 10 years at Unilever PLC, where he held increasingly senior marketing and management positions. Most recently Gish was Vice President, Marketing and Brand Development for the Personal Care Division, the company’s largest and most profitable category which includes brands like Dove, Axe and Vaseline. Gish also spent 4 years at Amazon.com where he was Vice President & General Manager of the Electronics Group which was Amazon’s fastest growing business and held positions as General Manager, Books and Director of Customer Marketing.

Gish earned a B.S. from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT, and has an M.B.A. from Cornell’s Graduate School of Business.
