Improving Patient Care With Wearables

The market for wearable devices is booming; it seems that every health-conscious 30-something owns a Fitbit, Jawbone Up wristband or similar gadget. In tandem, there is a lot of talk about why physicians should prescribe these devices to help their patients “engage” in their own healthcare by tracking heart rate, steps taken, calories eaten or sleep patterns.
