Leena focuses on identifying potential investment opportunities across Stripes’ various verticals, as well as conducts thematic research on emerging industries to provide support to the investment team. She is particularly interested in consumer branded products, restaurants, and digital media. Personal industry interests include manufacturing, agriculture, and industrial IoT.
Prior to Stripes, Leena interned at August Capital Partners Lte., an early stage venture capital firm based in Singapore, where she sourced deals, conducted due diligence, and assisted with writing white papers on Industry 4.0 and agriculture in Southeast Asia. She was previously an intern at Social Starts, a seed and pre-series A venture capital firm based in San Francisco, where she researched a breadth of topics including digital currency, voice recognition software, and cycles of technological revolutions. She will be spending the fall of 2017 at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore as an intern for the International Trade Administration, a branch of the U.S. Department of Commerce, to continue her interest in emerging markets and commercial development in APAC.
Leena grew up in the calm suburbs outside of Philadelphia, where the only interesting thing to happen is Philly cheese steaks and the fact that Kobe Bryant went to her high school. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, hiking, cooking Chinese food, history museums, and is a huge adrenaline junkie. She also does Muay Thai, and is looking to have her first amateur fight this winter.
